Hello. Here I am.

Something you should know about me: I do not like introductions. I certainly do not like having to do them more than once. I am about to demonstrate my dislike in full-force.

If you have already read my 'about' page, you do not need to read this blog entry.

First things first: I have an extreme aversion to writing content for 'about' pages.

I would liken the experience to being groped by a moist and sweaty stranger in the back of a pick-up truck*. Not enjoyable, and not something you would ever want to repeat. So, I better get this right the first time...and then swiftly forget this page exists.

*Purely hypothetical, I assure you.

Idless woods. Complete with pick-up.

I'm a nature enthusiast with her roots firmly planted in Cornwall UK. I live in a crooked little house with my Californian husband, our young son and a neurotic one-eyed cat named Woody. Yep. One-eyed Woody. I know, I know. We are truly terrible people.

Who doesn't like stroking a one-eyed Woody?
*audience groans*

Over the years, I have taken an obscene amount of photos chronicling my adventures in Cornwall. But, rarely have I shared the stories behind them. Eggshell Days will exist to share these tales with whoever wants to read them. Cornwall is a truly beautiful place steeped in magic and myth - I'm looking forward to writing about our life here.

Naturally, my interests and hobbies will also play a part in shaping this blog. I'm a hopeless bibliophile who cannot stop collecting books. My to-read list gets longer and longer with each passing day and I don't remember the last time I had any room left in my bookcase. Literature creeps along my walls, floor, furniture and beneath unsuspecting feet.

My favourite area in our little home

My full-time job is in the hospitality sector - but all of my spare time is spent having small adventures with my family and friends, taking photos, arranging shoots (there is an external link to my portfolio if you are curious), reading and indulging in long hikes whenever the weather allows for it. If any of those things pique your interest, then hopefully this blog will also appeal to you.

Finally...finally, we reach the end of this section. My laptop tried to fight me on this. Upon clicking the save button, it began to loudly groan and for reasons unknown decided to attempt to open everything on my desktop at once. This was followed by an embarrassed silence. It's a good thing I'm used to those. In fact, if my life were to have a theme-tune, it would just be one excruciatingly long, awkward silence.

Anway, Laura signing out! ohmygodwhydidItypethat

Oh, one more thing. I have a lovely little button. Please do share it!
